# Newsletter

> Write a branded newsletter, test it, and follow its sending progress.

Open **Marketing → Newsletter**. Compose the issue in an email preview, with
your listing choices and sender details alongside it. On a phone, use
**Message & content** and **Write & preview** to switch between controls and
the preview. Send yourself a test to check how your email app renders it.

## Your collection in email

New issues capture your website collection. The header uses its actual typography
as an embedded signature image, with matching colours around the message. Email
body text uses readable email-safe fonts; mail apps may display images differently.
The real preview and a test email let you check the result before sending.

Changing website themes does not restyle a saved issue. Create a new issue to use
the current collection. Existing newsletters retain their previous treatment.

## Composing an issue

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a starting point">
    **Monthly notes**, **New listing spotlight**, **Just sold** — each starts
    with a subject and a note skeleton in your voice — or start blank. If AI
    drafting is on, **✦ Draft my note** writes a grounded first pass from the
    listings and sales in the issue (tell it what to focus on, or don't).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write in the email itself">
    Click into the preview and type. The little toolbar handles bold, lists,
    links, and photos. In the side rail, pick listings to feature, include
    recent sales, link your latest article, or drop in an open-house invite.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test, then send">
    **Email me a test** puts the real thing in your inbox first. **Send to
    your list** queues the issue for eligible, opted-in contacts. Sending progress
    then appears in the editor and issue history. It is sent from your
    name using REALsite's verified sending address, with replies going to your
    contact email. Sending directly from a custom address at your own domain
    is not available yet.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Keep writing through updates

Changing the subject or content choices updates the email preview. If you start
writing before that update finishes, your writing stays in place. Choose
**Update preview** when you are ready to review the latest content choices.
If the preview cannot load, **Retry preview** tries again without replacing
your draft. Review an up-to-date preview before sending to your list.

Images show upload and insertion progress. Keep the issue open until the image
appears in your note; saving and sending wait for that step to finish. If it
fails, choose **Retry image** or **Remove image choice** to continue without it.
Removing an image choice does not discard the rest of your draft.

## Who's on the list — and who isn't

Your mailing list is the contacts who ticked the consent box on your own
site. See them any time in **Contacts** — your whole database with mailing
status at a glance. On anyone's page you can stop emailing them. You cannot
turn marketing email back on from the admin; if they want to return, they opt
in again through a form on your public site and confirm the link sent to their
inbox. REALsite handles that confirmation automatically.

Contacts you import from a CSV get follow-ups, notes, and calls — but no
marketing emails until they opt in on your site.

## One-time sender setup

Before the first test or campaign can be sent, add your **office mailing
address** in **Settings**. You only do this once. REALsite uses those sender
details automatically on public consent forms and in every newsletter footer.

Each sent email identifies you, names your brokerage when applicable, shows
your mailing address and contact details, and includes a working unsubscribe
link. REALsite also checks that these details are still complete at send time,
so a queued campaign cannot go out with required sender information missing.

These are compliance-supporting safeguards, not legal advice or a guarantee
that every list or message meets CASL. Have your mailing practices reviewed for
your own business before launch.

## Follow sending progress

An issue shows **Queued**, **Sending**, **Complete** or **Needs attention**, with
submitted, pending, failed and skipped counts. Submitted means the mail server
accepted the message; it does not confirm arrival in an inbox. A skipped contact
was no longer eligible to receive that email.

If a connection drops after you send, **Check sending status** reads the latest
result without queueing another campaign. Recoverable failed messages are retried
automatically without resending previously submitted messages. If messages reach
the retry limit, contact support rather than creating a duplicate issue for the
whole list. Older issues without detailed records show that their sending history
is unavailable.

Home and **Marketing → Overview** also show sending progress and issues that
need attention. Open the issue there to return to its delivery details.

## The numbers afterward

Each sent issue shows **opened** and **clicked** counts. Read clicks as the
honest number — mail apps open images automatically, so opens run high.
Clicks also show up on the lead's own page and warm them up in your inbox's
heat dots: someone clicking through your just-sold email is telling you
something.
