# Signing in and account security

> Confirming your account, signing in, two-factor sign-in, and switching between sites.

You manage your site at [realsite.ca/admin](https://realsite.ca/admin) —
one address, whatever your site's own domain ends up being. Bookmark it.

New to REALsite? Choose **Sign up** beneath the sign-in options to create
your site, then confirm the email we send you.

## Confirming your email

After you sign up, REALsite sends a confirmation link to your email. Your
14-day trial doesn't start until you click it — until then, the account
can't sign in. Confirming also verifies the address that will receive your
lead notifications.

## Signing in with a password

Enter your email and password on the sign-in screen and choose **Sign in**.
If you'd rather skip the password, choose **Email me a sign-in link
instead** — REALsite sends a link to your inbox that signs you straight in.
It works for 15 minutes.

Forgotten your password? Choose **Forgot password?**, and REALsite emails a
reset link that works for 30 minutes. Follow it to **Choose a new
password** (10 or more characters).

If a sign-in link has expired by the time you click it, you'll land back on
the sign-in screen with a note that it expired — just request a fresh one.

## Two-factor sign-in

Under **Settings**, the **Two-factor sign-in** card lets you add a second
step to your sign-in. Your leads and your clients' information live behind
your login, so an authenticator app makes a stolen password on its own
useless.

To turn it on, choose **Set up two-factor** and confirm your current
password. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator,
1Password, Authy, or similar) — or enter the key shown next to it by hand —
then enter the 6-digit code it displays and choose **Turn on**.

REALsite then shows you a set of **recovery codes**. This is the only time
they're shown, so save them somewhere safe before you continue — each one
signs you in once if you don't have your authenticator app.

Once it's on, signing in asks for a code from your authenticator app (or one
of your recovery codes) after your password or sign-in link. **If you lose
your device**, use a recovery code to get back in, then you can turn
two-factor off and set it up again on your new device. If you've also lost
your recovery codes, email support — someone will need to verify you before
removing two-factor sign-in from your account.

To turn two-factor sign-in off, choose **Turn off** on the same card. You'll
need a current authenticator code (or a recovery code) and your password —
both factors are required to remove this protection.

A two-factor sign-in follows the same shape whether you started with a
password or a sign-in link: whichever one you used counts as your first
factor, and the code screen finishes the second.

## Signing out

Choose **Sign out** at the bottom of the sidebar, next to your email
address. If you have unsaved changes open anywhere, REALsite asks you to
save or discard them first.

## Switching between sites

If you have access to more than one REALsite — say, a brokerage site and
your own — a site switcher appears at the bottom of the sidebar in place of
your site's name. Choose a different site from that list to switch into it;
REALsite asks you to save or discard any unsaved changes first, then
reloads into the site you chose. Your sign-in session covers every site you
have access to — there's no separate password per site.

## Getting help

**Help** in the sidebar brings you back to these docs and has a form that
reaches REALsite support with your site details already attached — see
[Getting help](/docs/help/getting-help).
