DDF®, in plain language
CREA’s DDF® Dashboard lists six channels. Two of them put listings on a website. Here is how to pick, and how to tell REALsite which one you chose.
The short answer
If your website’s job is to sell you, you want the feed that carries your listings (or your whole brokerage’s) to your site. On the DDF® Dashboard it is called a Member Website Feed. Create it, wait for your board’s approval (usually a day), and CREA emails a username and a password. Paste those into Your MLS® feed on your Listings page. Your listings arrive within the half hour, with photos, room sizes and status changes as they happen.
Choose My listings when you set it up if you want only what you list, or My office to show your brokerage’s listings too.
The other one
The pool carries every participating agent’s listings, so your site can offer a search of the whole market under your brand. To receive it you contribute your own listings to it. It is the right choice for a site whose job is search; it is unnecessary for a site whose job is you. Most Canadian agents do better with the first feed and a strong profile.
The other four
The remaining channels send your listings out to advertising sites, CREA partner tools and franchisor systems. They never put anything on your site. If a provider asks you for one of those, ask why.
Questions agents ask
A username and a password.
That is the whole integration.
